Information we collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may process:

• Contact messages: If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message.
• Technical and usage data: Our hosting and analytics providers may process IP address, approximate location derived from IP, browser type, pages viewed, referring URL, and performance metrics.

Why we use it and legal bases

Under applicable data-protection law (including GDPR where it applies to EU/EEA users of the Chrome Web Store extension), we rely on:

• Responding to your messages: Performance of a contract or steps at your request before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in answering inquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Hosting and securing the website: Legitimate interests in operating, securing, and debugging the site (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights: Legitimate interests in understanding aggregate traffic and improving performance (Art. 6(1)(f)). You may object by contacting us. These tools are designed to limit identifiability; they are not used to sell advertising.

Cookies and similar technologies

The website is hosted by Vercel. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights. Vercel describes Web Analytics as cookieless. Speed Insights and hosting may still process technical data needed to deliver the site. We do not use sign-in cookies because we do not offer user accounts.

We do not currently show a separate cookie-consent banner. You can block or delete cookies in your browser. If you object to analytics, email us at walkerplasticalternatives@gmail.com.

Recipients

We use these processors where needed:

• Vercel (hosting, analytics, and performance insights)
• Google (email via Gmail when you write to us)

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect legal rights.

Information we process

The extension is free, has no sign-in, and does not send your score history to FiberScore servers. When you use it, the following may be processed on your device and stored locally in your browser:

• Product page information: Publicly shown product information (for example product name, fiber composition, certifications, image URLs, and retailer) used to calculate a FiberScore.
• Page URLs: The URL of the page you are viewing, used to score that product and associate edits you save.
• Your edits: Changes you make to fiber or certification data, saved per product URL in your browser.
• Recent scores: Scorecards you save (product label, fiber breakdown, scores, certifications, product page URL, and product image URL when available).
• Extension settings: Preferences such as auto-score on/off, stored locally.
• Email you send us: If you contact us by email (including Report an Issue), we receive whatever you include. The extension does not collect your email unless you send it.

Why we use it and legal bases

• Calculating and displaying scores, remembering local edits and recent scorecards, and applying your settings: Performance of the contract to provide the extension you installed (Art. 6(1)(b)).
• Responding to issue reports or other emails: Steps at your request and our legitimate interest in supporting users (Art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f)).

Network requests

The extension reads product information from retail websites you visit in order to calculate scores. On some retailer sites (for example wearpact.com), it may send product identifiers from the current page URL to that retailer's public product API. Those requests are limited to scoring that page. The extension does not transmit your local score history or popup data to FiberScore or to advertising companies.

Local storage

Extension data is stored locally in your browser, up to a maximum of 20 scorecards. It stays on your device until you clear it, clear extension storage in browser settings, or uninstall the extension. You can also clear recent scores from the Recent ScoreCards page.
